thanks for the comment. i was wondering what that K:## thing was. yeah i do agree with you that i need to comment more but i do not have much time since i am still a student. But i will try my best to comment and give advice when i can.

The lights is used were two profoto heads powered by a 2400 watt profoto acute pack. so i had the background light powered all the way and the key light powered down quite a bit. also the backgound light was snooted to controll how much would be blown out. it was no mistake. this is merely part of my style that i am trying to evolve.

Pat thanks for all the comments they are appreciated. Anyway to answer your question for scanning I am using an Epson 4990 photo scanner. The past few images have been shot using a Diana for the close ups and a Holga with a red soft surround filter for the overall shots. Then I have scanned them and placed them on top of a strip of blank negative that i scanned also. Hope that all makes sense.

I like how the mist creates depth in this shot. I also like your choice of going with black and white. BW seems to add drama that is sometimes laking in color work.
