i feel like this is a bit of a departure from a lot of your other stuff b/c of the people present! haha ... i was starting to get the impression through your photos that Canada is filled with acres and acres of beautiful landscapes but not many inhabitants!! :P this came out really nicely...i like how there are people in various areas throughout the shot, it really adds a lot of interest. i think my favorite part is the upper left hand corner with the person on the rock and the sillhouette of the little tree! great work! Kessia

Nice contrast between the lit up peak in the distance, and the shadowed water, Tim!

I am not fond of taking photos of humans in general...I think that we have such a huge EGO and create such decimation in our ignorance..(myself included). I guess it is my self loathing that eliminates having to many people in my photos. But hey it is not all doom and gloom I recognize that we have the great potential to come out of it all and be a benefit to all as well. I just don't see that much of it I guess. I am trying to better myself never the less. now back to meditation...hmmm maybe next life I will be liberated....ha-ha.

guess this one needs sunglasses Roger...ha-ha...it may also be the difference in how I see it on my laptop compared to your screen settings. I know when I see my photos on other people's monitors there is a vast difference from one to another and that what we see by others on the web is just relative

I hope they were biting! Great shot, and I have to agree that the people in the shot do add something to it. Quite strongly composed as well. Great work.

I think this one will be better painted, Tim. The contrasting colour temperatures in the two areas are just too different for real unity within a single picture.

A beautiful picture Tim, the colors are very nice. A very nice place Banff, I had been there few times when I lived in Edmonton in the seventies.
Best regards
Guy

Hi Tim, In comparison to your general work, I think the people in this shot are definitely a valuable addition. It creates a entirely new theme to the (otherwise and as usual) beautiful scenery. The fact, that the interaction between those two people only becomes noticable on second glance makes the whole scene even more intriguing. Maybe not as useful as a blueprint for a painting (well, that's just my layman's view) but definitely a great photographic shot.

I've visited your website, and I was struck by the similartity between your paintings and your photos. Quite an impressive resume....:)

Cheers,

hugo

the light hitting the mountain behind is so breathtaking, I like the use of people in this shot, it not only gives us a sense of the perspective, but a feel for the use of the area. Alison
