Nice shot Mel, I like the pose as well. One thing you might want to try is throwing some light to fill in the dark shadow area around her left ear area. If you don't have a light, just have someone hold some type of reflective surface (white) to add a bit of light.

Pose and expression are very nice. Lighting is good too. Only thing I don't like is either her clothes or the background. I would have suggested she wear something light and go high key...OR use a dark background (or light it darker) to really make her face stand out. As it is, the tonality of her face and the background are very similar so she gets kind of lost.
