In the states they are sold as pets. I find it fascinating that YOU get to see them in the wild. I am from Florida and many of our local tourist attractions have them for all of the visitors to enjoy. They are very beautiful birds and very sweet to encounter!

That's intriguing! Where did you have the opportunity to handle them? In Sydney they usually stayed high in the trees and it wasn't easy even to get close enough for a photo.

Great shot of such a colorful bird! I have had the pleasure on a few occasions to handle them and they are just too much fun to feed! They are very beautiful!
