great colors Hugo. This blue!!!!! A very nice shot my friend, the boats really looks great! Perchaps the clarity could be better at the backgrounded sea but not big deal for me. (something out of the main subject) Best regards!

Very nice capture of this event. The horizontal land cutting through the image breaks up the water and sky nicely. Regards,

Mmmm this is really beautiful too! The colours and fresh feeling, also very sweet with the birds flying above! Photo quality is okay but not as perfect as the oher one I just commented. This feels a little bit blurry in foreground. But composition and feeling is just as great!

Hi Baki, you were not distructive at all! Hey! were would we be if we couldn't vent our honest oppinion? I completely agree with you, It's always good to experiment, and that also includes producing less appealing shots... The sketch you made would've created a better composition, and also a very unusual vision. Something like that would create an awesome shot, but is very hard to capture, as it does not happen very often that I see something like that...;o)
I appreciate your honesty... Thanks for your explanation!
Cheers,
Hugo

Hi Hugo, I think just due to the unusual composition and angle, I found it a bit strange for my eyes, but I really appreciate your work; otherwise how can we improve ourselves with repeating the same ordinary/ compositions and cliches? we should do various experiments just like you and try to find new ways of looking, interpreting and expressing the things around us and we should encourage those trying to do so.. Moreover we should constructive about those experiments.. In this context, I am sorry If my comment was destructive. Regards Baki

Hi Baki, After reading your email, I realised it's already too long ago before my reply to your excellent comment. The penincula you refer to is actually a pier, connected to the main land. Finding a spot where I could've composed the ships on eiter side is not really an option. I think the third shot in this triptych will explain it entirely...
From your shot, I read that you don not like this one, which of course is no problem, as we're dealing with a subjective matter, but if you could explain me why, I would really appreciate it.
Take care, and again my apologies for not answering sooner.
Cheers,
Hugo

Hi Riny, As I removed the initial post almost immediately after you pointed out the tilted horizon to me, I thought it made sense to select one of your photos to tell you about it, as I didn't know it would come through otherwise (the photo itself was already deleted by then) I was also kind of pressed for time, but promised myself to get back to you, which I will do shortly...;o)
Thanks again,
Cheers,
Hugo

Hi Hugo... I like this one too... I love how you captured the birds in the sky too.. It gives a more real vision of the environment... The buoy in the foreground is a contrasting detail, but it somehow distracts me from the sail yatchs... Just my humble opinion....
Cheers,
MaLuisa

Nice one, hugo. I personally prefer the first installment of the set, as the imagination part is stronger there. here I see the boats itself, not just the sails. The foreground is a bit blurry, perhaps you may add some sharpening filter with a mask for it. colors are great, contrast too. cheers, thilo

Hugo what's most intruiging about this shot is your ability to get this many sails full at one given time, not easy. Granted you said you were using a monopod, but from the visual aspects it looks like it was blowing pretty hard out there and you were some distance away. You picked a nice angle to shoot with the light working in your favor in terms of focus. I'd say you scored high on focus factor even in the given situation. In my opinion, I feel this shot is stronger in terms of composition than the Racing I - but I will say again with that shot to attempt at 3 in frame as you did is a challenge you certainly met. I also like the bright colors of the sails against the muted sky and sea - I see the birds were also working in your favor too! Thanks for the background too. Kind Regards, Cindi

Your image of something very noticeable, not only sailing boats in couples in the sea but also birds couple in the sky, nothing to say apart from a bit more room to the right, may be that?s only me with panoramic size vision and not for squares, Saeed

Ah, now we see water beyond, and the images begin to coalesce. Very nice, Hugo. I like how the bouy in the foreground is balanced by the gulls in the background.

Very interesting, mainly for the colour splashes, and the shape of the blue spinnaker. But I feel the first in the series had a better graphical impact, while this one is more documentary. The sails here are not as stylistically distributed as in the first one while here there are more details (parts of the boats and crew) to figure what the scenery is about.

Hi Hugo I was pretty surprised about your reaction to my comment on your first post of this photo, particurarly cause you sent it to an old photo of mine and not here as a reply comment. No one needs to be a hero to notice an horizon that's completely tilted. Anyway, it's great to know that someone considers me a hero every now and then, so.....thank you! Riny

Hi Hugo, this one also has the similar extraordinary composition with the previous one, although it seems quite interesting unfortunately i have not liked it, it might be considered in unusual vision project.. May be a capture taken from the little peninsula existing in this picture could create more effective picture with a composition like the attached image, just an idea .. Regards Baki

Hi Neil, Thanks man! And if we continue the comparisson Lori started, I guess that would make me a Photo tart too, wouldn't it? I think I'll follow this FatCatDesign UK guy for a while. Just to check out what other cool words I can learn from him (as his portfolio is empty, I won't be able to learn from his other skills....;o) That's what I call Amazing....;o)

Hi Hugo, i'll post it again for you. ...another nice one from you. I like the spinnaker filled with wind, especially the blue one (6735). Nice Tele-shot. Have to tell you someone compared me to you the other day because of the BIP's :). Don't know if that's an insult to you, but i took it as a compliment! PS: I got called a "photo tart" just before - whatever that is. I guess i'll just ignore it :) Funny how some people miss the point of this site and have a limited way of expressing themselves. Best wishes - Neil
