Don't ya just hate those cars! I have a number of images of the pier where I PS'ed out the cars but it still annoys me. I like the mood on this shot. I have yet to find the best spot in that lot to place the trees where I want them. did the color work include changing the color of the lights? I seem to remember them as a yellow. When they go on they are a yellow green. Very good Eric. You can shoot my pier anytime. - jb

Next time Eric, you should ask the owners to move their cars or blow them up if they don't comply :-). Nonetheless, the clouds are wonderful with immense motion. Like I suggested in chat, get in the water next time and see what you get with the long exposures. Way to get out of bed ;-)

I have to agree with previous comments about the white cars. They are distrcting from the main subject of the Photo. The sky is lovely and the pier intrudes towards the left of the picture just enough not to cut the photo in half. regards marie

Greetings Eric,

I must admit I was immediately attracted to the right side of this image first and then I caught the name. My first thought after that upon opening the thumbnail was a this has got to be a square format with those two white vehicles taking a hike ... Yes/No?

Per the attached, (if you don't mind), you still have the upper structure of the brushed cloud formation(s) although not as symetrical perhaps, but I believe this piece is more of a 'keeper' with this crop.

I love the sky, the palms, Manhattan Beach ... (my old stopping ground since '72) ... and your most recent critique on my shells also. Thanks for the mutual sharing and Best of Regards!

~ Sunset Man ~

P.S. Tell Tyler, Beverly, and Dan we solved the little problem since all three showed an interest also!

Beaufitul Eric, I love the way the clouds lead the eye to the pier. I agree with Tyler about the cars, but I still really like this!

Tyler, thanks for your comment.. Actually, this was taken during sunrise and the colors are reflected from the rising sun. Yes, the cars were difficult to aboid, so I chose to leave them in. Next time. :-)

I think that this photo has amazing color. Furthermore, I was really captivated by the feeling of motion that is given by the wispy clouds above the pier. I wish the camera had been turned about 15 degrees to the right, to get rid of the cars in the shot, and more of the orange sunset, but the pier adds wonderful depth. Good photo.
