This backwards head pose seems a pretty common positions for these guys. Maybe he needs an excorsist?
BTW We don't have Stellar Jays in this neck of the woods. Mostly Blue Jays.

Your wildlife pictures are excellent. I really enjoy pictures of animals, but my equipment isn't well-suited to that type of photography. If I lived in an area with more wildlife, I'd invest. This is a great site and I've just been busy doing other things and so haven't cultivated new friends. Probably that has happened to a lot of us who were here so much more frequently a few years ago. But there are likely new groups who know one another. It is nice to return now and then to post and say hello to my friends. Sometimes I'll make a comment or two on new posts. If I do post, I'll check in on you again. Take care my friend.

Hi Stranger!

Good to hear from you! It's funny how old names seem to drift in and out every now and then from this site.

I'm still hanging in here, with a post once in a while, however no where near as active as I used to be on this site. It really has seemed to have gone downhill a bit for some reason. It seems my friends box is mostly full of inactive people. Oh well, life goes on. Mostly these days, I've been concentrating on a lot of local Wildlife with a few other bits and pieces thrown in when I get tired of the animals. :)

I love this one too!
A common bird, but an attractive pose with very nice light.
When rare birds are not around, I think it still pays to keep the skills up on every day common birds. That way, it increases my chances of getting a decent image when a rare opportunity presents itself.

It's amazing how the light brings out the flourescent colour in these birds feathers. Sometimes they can look plain boring all black. Other times they are like rainbows.
