Lovely warm and gentle atmosphere with this lighting, Cathy! The eye always reverts back to the bright lamp shade but the soft gradation allows one to easily wander among the tonal subtleties within the lamp lit area.

This is really nice work Cathy! I love the warm tones.
The expression on the childs face is really what makes the
image. Im thinking the camera is not #1 on her mind and
I thnk thats in itself make this an even stronger image!
I like the element you have chose to include in the frame.
The lighting is great at providing you with a great low toned moody image! A great job of photography!

Talking about film days v's digital:it is the time of instant gratification, we used to have to wait until we got into the dark room to see what we had captured (now we just have to wait til we find where we put our spectacles).
I love the fact that I don't have to consider cost any more, I can take 300 shots on one topic if I like. I love the magic of the darkroom but I have not ventured in there since i picked up a digital camera. CC

Oh, wow, Cathy, the lighting is fantastic just barely enough exposure to rim-light her face.
Moments like THIS make me dance in joy with my digital camera. In the film days, if your film wasn't fast enough to capture the moment, oh well. Now, 'a little noise' is all you have to ponder as you essentially switch to a roll of high-speed film.
Again, this is adorable.
