Wow, you live high up there and -28 brrr. I saw a documentary yesterday about truckers bringing up to 30 tons of goods for "the diamond mine". But they drove over water on 1 meter ice at -40 cnetigrade. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Be well !

Hi Biljana... Well, i do enjoy seeing these types of things and the northern lights that are quite common up here, but I could do without the 7-day blizzards! Thanks for the comment and cheers from a cold arctic! Gary :)

Hi Srna! Well, I don't know either how I can keep coming back to this cold climate... Last night I went for a short walk. It was -35°C with a 35km/hr wind. It was COLD, but I was bundled up pretty well, so only a bit on my face and my hands were cold. That's really all it takes is being dressed properly, but that is such a pain at times! Glad you get to enjoy some mild temps. I look forward to that on my first break in 2 weeks. Cheers (from a still cold and windy arctic), Gary (o:

And here, on the other side of the world after all those snow and low temperatures, we do have today 16 C !!! So very sick weather !!! :(((
Cheers and hugs Gary !!!

I don't often get a chance to view a complete solar halo, especially with no interferences as yours is with the open, unobstructed horizen. A couple of years ago I did while at the lake and I totally blew my pictures. I have been waiting for another one thinking that as I know a little more now, I may be able to capture the scene better. I love yours. You even have a faint Tangent Arc--neat. In my Nature's Spotlight image, I did catch quite faint Sun Dogs. However, the total halo was not visible. I did enjoy the lovely Sun Pillar for sure. You might like to look at this web site. It has a lot of interesting information about atmospheric phenomina. Here is the link to the one that shows what you have captured in your lovely image.

Sun dogs, we get them here sometimes, but not that drastic.

Good shot.
