About This was actually at the wedding reception which was held in the historic Elsinore Theater. I used a star filter and rear-synch flash, to show movement as she descended the stairs. People hired me to shoot their weddings because of my romantic and experimental approach.

The original was very gold because of the tungsten lighting. But even though it was nice, I've converted it to B&W.

WOW...that does sound great...and I wish you'd taken some shots, too. I did photograph one outdoord wedding where it drizzled on us the whole time. Fortunately, I'd brought a golf umbrella which my assistant held over me and my camera. The bride and groom were 'game' and we got some great shots anyway. 'The Kiss' and 'The Kiss 2' are both from that wedding.

Hi Shirley,
Yeah, I thought that it was most likely the reception.

A couple of weeks ago, on a cold drizzly day, I was out looking for some Owls to shoot. The area was near a secluded woods with some really photogenic paths and bushes. When I arrived near the area in my car, I noticed a few limos parked near by. Very unusual for an area like this. Some creative wedding photographer had dragged the whole wedding party out into the misty, rainy woods to take shots that I thought they could look back on and say they were glad they braved the elements for. The bride didn't look too pleased at the time, but I bet it all turned out great for them. The men were in tuxes and the bridesmaids were all in a sort of "Little Red Riding Hood" gowns in fall colours. The colour of the woods in the mist and the dresses looked like a perfect match. It really looked like the photographer knew what he was doing.
I think sometimes you have to take some chances to give people something a little special.
I wish I had taken a few shots at the time too, but I didn't want to intrude.
Andre

A great idea to take advantage of this wonderful staircase like that Shirley.
This must have been an enjoyable wedding shoot. Most wedding locations are not this photogenic.

Yes, I can tell that it was a nice picture buy the way it looks in black and white, it is just beautiful, and I like the pose. I think the movement kind of looks like other spirts. hugs my friend. 7++++++++++++++++++++

I can only imagine the pressure and stress involved in a large wedding shoot! I have only done informal stuff - not much pressure but still kept busy!

Well, I loved doing them, but haven't done any for many years, because it did take a toll stresswise.:)

I imagine that it takes great presence of mind and security in your technique to do weddings with an experimental flair like this!

Nice technique. Wish the groom would have stood a little stiller, that would have been awesome... but I am sure that was not your fault... and even when you describe in detail what they need to do, they (your subjects) have no real clue about timed exposures.
