I will leave a comment for this one, maybe not the best compare others of your shots; but anyway intellingent and beyond measure interesting.
Maybe it can be a perfect example of how the simple descripion of a photo as a name for it (and in effect, this is REALLY a bishop in a shadowy environment...) can anyway offer the viewers a title rich of intense, double, magnificating sense.
This photo catch in the very centre one of rules I like to follow in judging them.
Bravo!!!

Yes, I like this composition very much with the bishop against a black back drop. And the great thing is on the details and texture that you managed so perfectly. This is a very good example of perfect exposure control.
