About Hi, I took this in a garden in Virginia. Please let me know what you think. I tried to keep the flower off center. Does this work? thank you!

I think the colors are amazing-the texture of the flowers is wonderful. Are these some kind of poppy?
I tried increasing the saturation on this photo in PS-I didn't like it anymore than what you have done with it.
Excellent diagonal composition-it really lead the viewer's eye through the image well.

Regards-
Sarah

I've just started paying attention to flower shots, and I think this one is smashing! Maybe there has been some loss in saturation, but it dosen't bother me at all. I love the colors in the flower and in the background. That small area of teal blue! The DOF is perfect. And I have no idea what anyone's problem might be with the composition. I just can't understand the ratings here! Fours?????? I don't get this whole thing about being a slave to some formula when it comes to flower shots.

[I gave this sevens......screw 'em!]

Nice macro, IMHO I would crop about 25% to the right to make emphase to the flower.

Hi Sarah,
Beautiful colors and the composition is not bad. Just a little pitty about the lightning. The drops on the leaves (on the right side) are overexposured and became "white spots". Try to use a lower exposure. I hope you don't mind telling you this.

Off center is okay but, IMHO, you shouldn?t crop the left side of the flower. The photo is crisp and on my monitor the colors look very good (some people seem to forget that in nature colors are not always "saturated". So far I have only posted flowers but none with water drops. Must try it someday. Regards.

One thing I have noticed is that the color faded a lot when I posted this. Any ideas on why this is? thanks!

a lot of improvement can be applied here.. first off the flower of interest is cropped, you need to center on it, next the colros look a little faded, you can increase saturation levels by a couple of notches, as well as contrast. my latest http://www.usefilm.com/showphoto.php?id=129740
