Ahhh.... "polarizing filter"... of course. Duh... :-] Very nice. Sad, though.

Nothing has been cropped on this photo - the edges are the result of using a wideangle lens 35mm with a small aperture opening (either f16 or f22). I'm not sure what you mean by CPL. The polarizing filter also adds to the vignetted effect.

I use an old polarizing filter made by N.P.S - Japan. This filter is one I use quite often simply because I often include a lot of sky in my photographs and I like to bring out the contrast between the sky and clouds.

Wonderful composition, and the blue of the sky looks excellent, well done. Great textures with the buildings too.

The outer edges do look vignetted though, and it looks as though you have cropped some of the bottom of the pic out to improve the composition. Is this the case? If not, id love to know what CPL u used.

Regards

When I first saw this photo I was going to ask the question about how you managed to get the sky so blue. Question was answered with the added information about the polaring filter. I know there are a couple available - what type do you use?

The shot starting with the sky is so incredible. I love the abandoned buildings with the paint chipping off.

The white and red of the building and the intense color of the blue sky really makes this a great photo.

Well done!

Love the effect the polarize filter created, almost creating its own frame. Beside the bright blue sky, the other bright colors really work well together making this picture stand out. Great work.
