Hi James, Very strong use of DOF, obscuring the peripheral elements in this shot nicely. the clarity of tthis shot with the Sigma lens is quite astonishing; I find my Sigma 135-400 always a bit dull in tonal range / dynamic range, but that certainly doesn't show here. Thanks for posting the camera settings, too, very insightful.

Great nature shot. Compositionally I think this might be stronger if you were to crop a bit off the top of the image. The crop would place greater emphasis on the ground and the relation it has with this type of owl. Very nice capture.
