Hugo de Wolf's imageopolis Photo Portfolios

In Motion (29)

An ongoing project, capturing motion in various ways. Whether it's using a time lapse, camera handling, flash-effects, the speed of the subject itself or a combination of these means, each of the images shows a change, captured in a single shot.

The Dutch Files (86)

The Photographers' views on the Dutch landscape, cities and life. It's amazing how beautiful places can become so common to some, wheras it remains a picturesque place for others. This gallery tries to express that feel. Holland is Beautiful, and so are the views on the Dutch landscape...

NYC files (10)

New York is a fascinating place for photographers. It's the place where two worlds merge: the wealth and grandeur of the skyscrapers, and the micro communities on the ground. The 24/7 bristle of the city is captivating. To absorbe the feel of the city, black and white serves the purpose of telling the story of New York through a Dutchman's eye.

North West Pacific (13)

Images of the Pacific North West with its imposing National parks, such as Mt. Rainier, the North Cascades and the Olympic Peninsula, the views of Seattle and British Columbia.

Death Valley views (17)

Death Valley, the largest National Park in the contiguous United states, comprises more than 3,3 million acres of desert wilderness. It ranges between 11,050 foot and -283 foot, and is therewith the lowest point in the western hemisphere, and arguably the hottest place in the world, with a record breaking maximum temperature of 134 F (56C) An amazing place, beyond your wildest dreams!

Hong Kong Bristle (5)

Hong Kong, a former part of the Commonwealth, is a mix of western style materialsm and the oriental scents. The most important financial and economic center in the region, it attracts many industrialists, and business is booming. The buisness travellers spend a fortune on electronics and gifts, all state of the art. The bristle of the back alleys is controlled by the chinese, always willing to make a dollar.

Images of Iceland (6)

It's hard to believe that there's another place on earth where human presence is completely subordinate to the forces of nature. The way of living, the myths, the Saga and the vulcanic activity plays an imminent role in the Icelandic culture. Not to mention the fact that the land is covered under a thick blanket of snow for eight months a year, and that it'll get dark in wintertime. Very dark, for a very long time...

Dossier Iran (78)

Iran is a country of contrasts. Soaking in the culture and history mixes the Persian values with those of the islam. They seem to both clash as well as coinside, adding to the atmosphere. From the ancient ruins of Persepolis, to the aftermath of the Bam Earthquake, from the frantic traffic in Tehran to the celebrations of the 25th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution, and from the beauty of Esfahan to the pollution and industries. Iran has it all.

Dossier Morocco (25)

Morocco is one of the most versatile countries I've been too. This travelogue shows you the various aspects. Having travellet from North to South, From East to West (and not necessarily in that order) you'll see the differences. The myth of Africa is real: the colours are real, the scents are real. And strong. And mesmerising. Fascinating country.

Products (41)

With my background as industrial designer, product photography has always interested me. This section contains photographs, mainly macro photography of everyday products in an unusual way. At times, this unusual way prevents the visitor from actually recognising the product in question. Taking a closer look at common things will broaden your perspective!

Emotions (55)

People show their emotions through their facial expression, their gestures or through their body language. To capture that is an art on its own. And that's exactly the challenge in photographing people. Sometimes, the hands tell a story of themselves... This section shows different styles, from Black and White to colour, from film to digital.

Photojournalism (52)

A collection of images created in assignment, showing a various aspects of life. Ranging from the upside of life to tragic moments and everything in between. With these images, I'm trying to capture life as is.

Creative Photos (98)

A range of photos where I've tried to push the boundaries of photography, trying new techniques, experimenting with composition and triggering my creativity. With these series, I try to capture an object, a theme or an action by showing a series of images composed around the same subject. Thus the illusion of the actual event is portrayed. Advanced Creative imagery.
