Q. New features added to imageopolis

3/2/2014 Added like buttons to the images and image comments. These work similarly to facebook like buttons but are NOT connected to facebook. They just let the photographer or critiquer know that someone saw their photo or critique and liked what they saw.

Hovering over the thumbs up image will show who liked it. No emails are generated, only the number increments as more people like it. If you decide that you no longer like it, click on the unlike link. You can toggle back and forth if you are the flip flopper type and cannot make up your mind.

Later on we will index the photos by the most likes so they can be viewed in order.

Re-wrote some of the database queries. Staff Choice and Editors Choice selections from the left hand menu now take approximately 2 seconds to load instead of 30 seconds or a timeout. Let me know if you see problems with this. Thanks, Phil

The ability to send a Photo E-Card has been added. This will help you share your images as well as others that you find interesting. By clicking on the link below the image, a form where you enter the From and To information as well as a heading/caption and a short message will be brought up. Hitting send will send an email with a link back to your E-Card. Give it a try and let me know if there are any bugs or additions to this feature that you would like.

New features are good but what is not good is the speed of site loading images!! it is painfully slow! it is getting close to the worst days of usefilm!

Yes Morad, we will be upgrading to a new database server as soon as funds are available. That will fix the speed in loading thumbnail pages and should make the site fly. We appreciate your patience.
