  Q. Phil: Moderation of Panorama Forums
Roger Williams
Asked by Roger Williams   Donor  (K=86139) on 4/27/2006
Phil, you were going to let me moderate the panorama forums, and give me access to the moderator functions. So far I have heard nothing. Is this on hold? Or have you had second thoughts? I have had lots of things to post, but have been waiting until I heard from you. Today I finally started the ball rolling on what I believe could be very enjoyable exchanges concerning immersive (virtual reality) viewers, so if you do intend to go ahead, now would be a good time. (I put this in the "bugs" category because I know you look at those...)

Don't think you're not allowed to post without moderator powers :)

There's some forum moderation functions that are still not (fully) implemented, maybe Phil is waiting to add more moderators until those functions are in place.

Oh I know that, well enough, Jeroen. It was just the thought of getting a discussion going and then having some unknown person provide rather heavy-handed moderation. Someone unfamiliar with panoramas or unsympathetic to, say, the use of VR software to view them, would hardly be the right person for this task, and I hear that everyone else is far too busy anyway, so this was my offer to share a bit of the load for which I feel responsible, having badgered everyone for over two years to provide a special "panorama" upload privilege. By the look of things, though, I was kidding myself about interest. There seems to be zilch. [sad smile]
