  Q. I need an external monitor for my MacBook Pro
Scott S
Asked by Scott S    (K=209) on 10/29/2006
I want to get an external monitor for my macbook for working at home. I considered the cinema monitor of course because not only is it wonderful, it looks wonderful as well. The aesthetic design is great, but the price is simply obnoxious. However after talking to an apple employee he suggested teh dell WFP monitor, because it has the same internals as the Cinema display and the same specs only about half the price. Just wondering if anyone has had expierence with either monitor, or can suggest something else to me?

I have a cheap Envision that works well. 19" for $200 on sale. It's not uber-pretty like the Cinema displays, but it's not horribly ugly. It has a good stand, and converts pretty easily to a wall mount if you buy a bracket for it.
The color is good, the dot pitch is decent, and the black point is quite black. I'm pretty impressed with it, and didn't have to give up a kidney to afford it.
