How did you manage to get such detail, I see you didnt use the macro lens? I always have a problem with getting things sharp without them..

Great macro and yes the colors are really beautiful. Not to mention the composition and texture of this flower. I really like the smoothness of the shot. But wonder what it would look like with more DOF and have everything in focus. Keep up the great work.

Wow.
First of all, congratulations for such a richly deserved award! You have really progressed in the past several months....you should be very happy.
The image is almost surreal...magical like a painting. There are so many elements working together...interacting with each other, and melting into a dance of color and light. The brilliant reds play so well off the changing depth and color of the petals. All just setting the stage for that brilliant "star-fishy" centerpiece! This is sensational....I'll bet you gasped when you got your first full sized viewing! I did..

Wow, cool flower! I really like what you've done here with the soft focus from the really shallow DOF and the very bright colors in the center, and the star itself almost looks like it's glowing. Wonderful!
