About There is nothing like an early morning sunrise along the coast. Even though there is a slight barrel effect going on in this photo I don't mind it. The sun glistening off the water and rocks make up for it. To learn more and see more of my images go to

Beautiful shot Kirk. The lighthouse in seasmoke shot (outstanding!) led me to your portfolio and then here. Very good work. Regards.

Kirk, I noticed something similar in my first few uploads. I think you probably need to look at your sharpening AFTER you've resized the images for Usefilm's 640 pixel maximum width or height. Sharpness is best optimized at real size... Since I started doing this, a few people have even commented on how sharp my photos look, so it seems to be working. By the way. I agree that the barrel effect, which may be due to pointing a wide-angle lens down at quite an angle, is not too disturbing, and certainly doesn't spoil this striking image, which I really like. But if you wanted to correct it, you could use a perspective correction tool. I use PaintShop Pro's but PhotoShop is bound to have similar ones. Probably better ones.

I like the effect of the slow shutter speed that you used. It gives the photo a some motion. Very well done.

For some reason my images are not looking real snappy on usefilm. In Photoshop they look real goo. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know.
