Aha, this proves my theory, everything is relative :-)
My eye does favor a horizontal composition - the central position of the moon would be the only thing. I'm guessing you shot this from the embarcadero. Hope we run into each other sometime. Take care!

The relatively slow shutter is good for blurring the background. But yes, you caught him well. It must have been dark since you were already at ISO 1600, wide open and still at 1/125s

Thank you for your critique. I went with the portrait orientation because it felt stronger than the landscape choice. If I had a wider lens it would've made a difference.

Terry, you've captured the bridge very well on this night shot. I'm not sure though if a vertical composition is best. The full moon over the weekend was just awesome.
