Great mood, wonderful colours and I can see why you had to take this shot, even though the motive has been found and used quite a lot!

Here I like again the colour combo but also the light and the texture it creates in the blossoms. The frame does nothing for me, the disturbing vase has been mentioned but again a pictur well worth taking a long look at it. Regards Jörg

This is a very captivating picture. One gets drawm in by the colur like in a vortext except here it is the colour tension that creates the power, Thsi must be a perfect shot, I love your sense of colours and this one is technically difficult and perfect nevertheless.Regards Jörg

Amazing color composition, I would love to see this in real, this scene is gorgeous. I wonder, though if the blue may be a little over saturated. Would love to see this a little less dominating. Great shot, though, nevertheless. For me it has a lot of impact. Regards Jörg

Captivating shot, Becky, graphically and colourwise well composed. Like the great light creating this threatning atmosphere. Also love the story line, the imminent threat and the long way to go to not get caught: and "uphill both ways", metapher for some life situations (to speak of formative years). But I love Stefans view! What a gift!

Excellent job, here, wonderful picture of a great mood and also well composed. Also the exposition is perfect, f.i. the detail in the bark of the "shaded" side of the tree is amazing. The colour is great, the violet pinkish tint adds "eeriness" and creates the atmosphere that is so captivating in this shot. I do not know if you by intent (playing around with the sky?) left in the colour noise in the sky, typical for low light shots. I would love to see what eliminating or reducing it, would do to the picture.

Nice composition and the pasting creates - as you say interest - and I did not notice it on first sight, I just noticed the extreme Dof and checked the lens information, well with it at 15 that shot looked alright. Knowing more I revisited the pic and it is really done well, only a slight difference in the shade of the brown of the ground may indicate PS work to me. As with the colours I am not sure (as the rest of your commentators). I think shifting the colour balance away from the red may improve the picture - at least on my screen, -a caution I always keep in mind- it looks a little overdone.

Another great picture like the subtle colours and the play with the Dof. I tried to give a comment on your pink 2 earlier today. For some reason it was not possible I wrote twice 900+ just to see them vanish after "adding comment" So here you get it again for pink III hope you cherish my frustration tolerance, no copy and paste involved - the fool I am)

Monika (or narabia?) you have got a great portfolio and I particularly like and admire your pink II. This is a wonderful picture the interplay of cool and warm colours of softness and detail lift this one above a just good flower picture. I guess one cannot do it any better -or?
In your "about" you write of the nice background effect. I often had the same amazement and it became one of the main reasons and certainly a source of great joy to take shallow Dof flower macros shots. Looking through the viewfinder there is hardly an idea what is going to happen with the colour of the blurred background and thus a source of something unplannable is introduced, the new shade created in the camera often enhancing the object of the photo. I had this experience with my Annemone blanda II (http://www.usefilm.com/image/744364.html) where the background was an old brick wall of my neighbours house lit by the evening sun. No guessing that the blurring would create such a fine soft pink/orange complementing the bluish violet of the flowerand creating an image that could have been taken in a studio with a select background screen. Anyway, I am looking forward to be checking out your portfolio in more detail: another source of joy and I took the liberty to add you to my friends list. Best regards Jörg

Hello Monika (or narabia?), you have a great portfolio and in particular I like your flower shots. This one is amazing it is so subtle with the wonderful contrast of cool and warm colours and the play of softness versus the detail. It cannot get any better, or? This one goes to my favorites. What you mentioned in your "about" is one of the reasons I like to take those soft flower macro shots. There is a component of chance that creates fully unplanned effects in the background and in the interplay of background and object, often enhancing it. I had one of those moments with my Annemone blanda III posted here on this site (http://www.usefilm.com/image/744364.html), where the background was an old brick wall of my neighbours house in the city. Looking through the viefinder one did not expect that the blurring would create a whole new subtle shade of brick pink/orange in the final picture.
I am looking forward to checking out your portfolio in more detail.
Regards Jörg

You have got a great portfolio, I like this one very much actually as many others of your flower pictures. Wonderful here the play of softness and detail, of cool and warm colours. You have a great vision for flowers. This one goes to my favorites. It cannot get an better, or?? On another note I agree that using shallow Dof the blurry background get a special quality not seen while taking the shot and looking through the viewfinder. It is one of the reasons that attracts me to taking such pictures: If you like check my Anemone blanda III (http://www.usefilm.com/image/744364.html) : here the background was an old brick wall of our neighbours house and in the photo it looks as if I had used a screen in a studio. Same here with yours! Looking forward to checking out more your portfolio.
Best regards Jörg

Great! love the dreamlike quality brought about by the use of shallow dof and the strong sepia tones. Very personal and individual view. Congrats.

Like the idea: usually having bars and strong horizontal lines in front I think would have destroyed a pictur but here it kind of creates the impression the viewer actively being hindered to reach the mountain, creating a longing and giving the mountain a forbidden quality. Good story! Regards Jörg
