je foto geeft NL iets oosters. ( niet nederlands) en dat maakt de plaat erg mooi.
het komt misschien door de houten brug , het licht en de lichte glooing op links dat het mij aan japan doet denken. Niet dat ik daar ooit geweest ben overigens . maar dat terzijde.

hi harry,
je bijna obsessieve drang tot het plaatsen van al deze prachtige oude platen ontroerd me. Ook ik ben op zoek naar al die verhalen en foto's bij ons in de familie. Het mooist zijn die foto's die zelf een verhaal vertellen, en dus zonder begeleidende tekst op de achterkant. Soms eenvoudig, vaak gelijkend een andere foto van een of andere beroemdheid. Het kan zijn dat ook toen fotografen elkaar al kopieerden. het kan ook zijn dat de smaak en stijl van die tijd de fotografen inspireerden. Soms vind je van die pareltjes, die afwijkend zijn er. vaak van extravagante beroemdheden. soms ook van minder beroemde. Als je dit nu leuk vindt, en dat doe je. google dan eens op stephen poliakofs : shooting the past. Het is een BBC serie over de mogelijke verkoop van een foto archief. een prachtige serie, met prachtige verhalen over ( oude )foto's .

I can see what triggered you to change this one into BW. Color makes the moment less intens. this warm toned one. is just fine, but you know my preference for BW. On the BW you added a little more vignet ( or contrast ) that takes the focus to the actual subject.
PS. the angle on this and previous photo's is marvelous

Your enthousiasm and constant flow of pictures keeps fascinating me. like your constant different views, angles and trying new skills. Alice should stay in color however. In my oppinion You could make the colors more strange wit PS or LR. If it's just a title for a picture with a girl called alice, forget I mentioned

agree on the clouds/ white on "leaving". It's a little too much LR. however, the moment was almost magical ( a bit medieval I should say )

dank je wel harry,
na een mooie lange warme zomer werd het weer eens tijd om de portfolio te vullen. deze zijn gemaakt tijdens de bruiloft van vrienden in italie.komende tijd volgen er nog meer.

he robin,
achtergrond was deels al heel donker ( doek ) en een gedeelte is is PS donkerder gemaakt. foto wordt gebruikt voor een hoes die we aan t ontwikkelen zijn. vandaar... de kleur was overigens oranje. in wit ( ook geschoten) waren de contrasten in de bloem niet zo mooi. en oranje omzetten naar ZW gaf dus uiteindelijk een mooier effect. hoe dan ook , bedankt maar weer he.
weet jij hoever maurice is met zijn catalogus?

somehow this picture keeps intriging me. and i'ainn't sure if it's the broken radio ( we used to have one too) ore the old phone. the colors are strange too. the grainy affect helps as well
a magnificant moody picture asking to be used for a CD cover

mooi he die winter.
leuk dat je de boven en zijwiek er af hebt . dat maakt de foto toch net even anders. kleuren zijn mooi in deze plaat .
net een beetje winters namelijk, en daardoor leiden ze niet af van het onderwerp. helemaal goed dus

my first impression was: i don't like tricks with PS. it's not that it make the picture more beautiful now i think that it isn't PS. but it defenitly makes it more interesting.

mooi zoals het geel van de voorgrond op natuurlijke wijze bijna overloopt naar zw in de achtergrond. geeft de foto een mooi contrast.

hi harry. the colorenhancement in the next one ( same picture!) is better, this one seems to have less noise. however, marvelous capture and the quality is allright, for a 30 year old slide. It's a bit like wine. some bottles are to old to drink, but still you can taste it once was a splendid one ;)
